The vocation of the polytechnic system can be summarized, essentially, with the following considerations: development and maturity of the Portuguese System of Polytechnic Higher Education (ESP); it’s geographic coverage and diversity of scientific areas; the experience and dynamics acquired from joint participation in international networks and in the project Portugal Polytechnics (SIAC Internationalization); a significant increase in the international dimension of the Portuguese ESP; synergies with the business sector and regional institutions. Therefore, it is crucial to implement measures that can promote the expansion of this policy, as well as reinforce the mechanisms that foment internationalization of the IES and the Portuguese economy, and cooperation for development. So, the measures to be implemented should be structured by different, but complementary objectives, to help reinforce the internationalization of regional and national economies. The measures will also help demographic continuance and international affirmation of the ESP and the Portuguese scientific and technological system, ensuring at the same time future sustainability of the recommended actions.

– Creating a network of ambassadors who will encourage an exhaustive study and definition of the characteristics of the target market.

– Creating ESPP Awards to acknowledge the increase in symbiotic presence of the ESPP along with the business sector of the different regions of the world.

– Developing a platform for sharing knowledge and qualifications of external markets.

– Actions of knowledge-sharing with the business sector about opportunities found by the network and qualification of the business sector, preparing it for internationalization.

– Organizing internationalization events of the Portuguese business sector.

– Writing periodic reports, distributed each trimester to: members of the network; the Portuguese business sector; members of the government interested in the network.

–Developing directed digital marketing.

– Global management of the Project.
